Psychedelic rock band Post Animal made a quick stop in Santa Ana to headline The Constellation Room (June 23, 2023).
Post Animal, from Chicago, Illinois, has been touring as opening support for Temples over the past month. The band just played their final show with them at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles on June 24, 2023. Post Animal recently released their newest single, Aging Forest, on June 6, 2023.
The night started off early with opening act, The High Curbs, taking the stage at seven o'clock. The garage rock band from Los Angeles put on a lively show drawing the crowd to start moshing. Amid the at first small crowd, the band put on a high energized performance while rocking out on stage. The band drew in the crowd and chatted a bit while cracking a joke about how early they were playing.
“How’s everyone doing tonight? We’re starting nice and early at seven o'clock on a Friday night!” the front man jokingly said to the crowd.

Drowned in pink and blue lights, Post Animal hit the stage shortly after. The band's psychedelic tendencies made the room burst in energy. Electrified by the band, the lively crowd interacted with one another while dancing and getting rowdy in the pit. Post Animal brought nostalgia to the Constellation Room with their influx of neo-psych rock and dramatic neon lights. The band mentioned how they played in San Francisco the night prior, so they had a long travel day to make it to their Santa Ana show.
Post Animal is a great live band with high energy and great music. As the psychedelic rock community grows here in Orange County, Post Animal would be a great return to Orange County.
