Showcasing their newest album, “Grapes Upon the Vine,” TV Girl sold-out all 40 shows on their tour, ending their last two shows at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA.

Jordana, who joined TV Girl on their 6 ½ Year Anniversary of French Exit Tour, opened up the show getting the crowd pumped by saying, “Who’s ready to hear some Rock music?” Jordana, with her natural stage presence, was energetic her whole performance. While watching Jordana’s performance, she was able to get the crowd screaming and dancing with one word. She’s one of those people you see perform and just know she was made for the performing life. She was both lyrically and instrumentally strong, while having a good relationship with the crowd.

TV Girl, made up of Brad Petering (front-man), Jason Wyman (drums), and Wyatt Harman (keys), started in 2010 from San Diego, CA. The indie-pop band’s newest album, “Grapes Upon the Vine,” has a different sound compared to the rest of their albums. “Grapes Upon the Vine,” is gospel and spiritual inspired, with Petering saying on stage, “these kids could use a little spiritually in their life,” poking fun at his younger crowd.

The band opened with I’ll Be Faithful thus quickly transitioning to Pantyhose, a fan favorite. Petering, known to be very comedic at his shows, made sure to tell the crowd that they’ll be playing TikTok fan favorites as well as deep cuts for the hardcore fans. Petering also poked fun at their newest album not selling by mentioning “every ten vinyls sold tonight, one ‘Grapes Upon the Vine’ album will be given to an elderly or vicious dog in need.”

Something I particularly liked about TV Girl’s performance were the visuals. Aside from their iconic neon logo in the back, I loved how the lights matched the colors of the album of whatever song they were performing. During 99.5 the lights were an assortment of greens to match “Grapes Upon the Vine,” while during The Blonde the lights were red and pink to match “French Exit.” It’s the little details that make the concert an experience for true fans.

Towards the end of the night, being his comedic self, Petering ended up pulling out “$32 in cold hard cash,” from his pocket and threw it out to fans at the front of the barricade. The band's connection with their jokes and genuine gratitude for their fans, was one of the evening's highlights The band ended the night playing fan favorite Lovers Rock and closing out the show with It Evaporates, a true deep cut for hardcore fans. TV Girl put on a relaxing performance full of laughter and a stacked setlist at an intimate venue.
